Comments : There are quite a few Crystal Jade Restaurant scattered around Singapore and, at first blush, they may seem a bit on the expensive side but the quality of the ingredients is first rate and the outlet at Peranakan Place is open 24 hours - a nice bonus.

Comments : When you have only one item on the menu it had better be something special and the chicken rice at the Big Bird is. Hainanese chicken rice is a staple of Singapore culinary scene and nobody does it better. Excellent value for money and a friendly staff to boot.

Comments : There are literally hundreds of superb Chinese restaurants in Singapore but this one catches our attention with its beautiful Euro-Zen interior and display kitchen where you can watch your handmade noodles being, well, handmade. Try the chinese tea. All in all excellent value for money.

Comments : Our friend Aileen swears by this place - chilli and peeper crabs steamed in a secret concoction of exotic spices served with a great view of the Singapore Skyline at night.

Comments : Fatty Wings has moved and opened a larger, "nicer" establishment behind Sim Lim Square but not to worry, the food is every bit as good and the prices are still reasonable enough that Fatty Wing's keeps packing 'em in nightly.

Comments : One of Singapore's larger hawker stands ensures a wide variety to choose from and enough competition to keep prices down. Popular with locals working in the surrounding area during the day and tourists at night.

Comments : The venerable Newton Circus Hawker Centre is perhaps Singapore's most popular tourist attraction. This outdoor venue tends heavily towards Chinese seafood specialties. Terrific place to meet fellow travelers although the prices are a bit higher than other hawker stands.

Comments : If you're in Chinatown with a group of friends and can't decide where to go, head over to Maxwell Centre and take a seat with the locals. Good selection, excellent prices.

Comments : One of only a few hawker stalls in the posh Orchard Road area, this small group of stalls covers the basics at extremely reasonable prices. A constant flow of locals attests to it's goodness.

Comments : More a food court than a hawker stall, Cuppage Terrace has a fine selection of international restaurants from Thai to Northern India and that range from reasonable to expensive.

Comments : Utilizing what used to be a Convent (Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus) CHIJMES has be turned into a collection of chic and fun dining establishments. Want a to have a special night out but not sure where to go ? - CHIJMES is the place. You won't be disappointed by any of the restaurants.

Comments : On Singapore River, Boat Quay is a collection of renovated shophouses with nearly every imaginable cuisine represented. Plenty of bars and discos as well make Boat Quay a tourist haunt and the prices reflect it. Nonetheless Boat Quay is one of those places everyone seems to visit. For a quieter night, go down one of the alleyways to Circular Rd.
